Sandi Thom’s lyrics ring true with this ArtUmbrella’s latest addition to the Denim Theory 2013, a Denim Hairband by Shruti Kumar!
Shruti Kumar is a User Interface designer [Designing apps for Windows] by profession. Approximately three years ago, she and her partner began TRF (The Ribbon Factory) a hair accessory brand, as a hobby which is now a fast growing business. They also spend a fair amount of time raising funds for the NGO “World for all” by making merchandise for them. Organizing art workshops for children during summer vacations take up any time they have to spare.
Shruti Kumar’s Denim Theory:
Shruti feels that denim can be used to make absolutely anything – clothes, accessories, bags or footwear. Shruti says, “Moreover, denim is worn on a daily basis, it’s easier to co-ordinate it with your wardrobe. I love the awesome grunge feel denim has. I love to create hair accessories and when I heard about the Denim theory, a very large floral avant-garde head piece floated into my mind.” And that’s how an ill fitted pair of jeans was transformed into this pretty hair accessory.
